Waverley's work with Britvic Plc was written up in an article in 'People Management' (Aug 2008). "There is no doubt it has been the most powerful leadership intervention we have every done" says Doug Frost, HR Director. The article records how employee engagement and satisfaction with leaders climbed by some 20% in the 12 months after the programme.     Punch Taverns have won a prestigious National Industry Training Award for their Authentic Leadership programme designed and delivered in partnership with Waverley. The BII NITA award was made 'in recognition of a programme to engender authentic leadership qualities'.

Commenting on the award, Punch's Head of Development, Nick Rowe said, "We are absolutely thrilled to receive this award. A huge amount of research and planning has gone into the leadership programme....We went through a stringent selection process to put together a 'dream team', including our external delivery partners, to help us deliver what we believe is the best leadership programme in the industry". By the end of february 2009 over 340 managers will have completed the course.

We will be holding enquirers' events over the next few months.

Informal breakfast meetings in London at the Institute Of Directors, on the theme of 'leading in tough times'. As well as an opportunity for networking and discussion, Chris Blakeley will talk through some of the new processes we are using in stimulating powerful dialogue at the top of organisations, plus our core leadership development processes.

Who mentors the mentor? This is a new service aimed at supporting those who choose to take on the responsibility of mentoring, but who wish occasionally to access a 'sounding board' to check out their approach. The half day forum will provide a (facilitated) peer support group which will enable mentors to share issues and learn from each other in a safe, confidential environment.

For details contact Belinda.Smith@waverleylearning.co.uk.

Our new service in spiritual mentoring is now available for people (with a faith or without) who wish to take time and space to explore this aspect of their development.

We continue to support the Crossroads Retreats Charity run by experienced coaches and developers who want to give their time to supporting people in a retreat setting to explore 'crossroads' in their lives - such as career change, redundancy, retirement, parents returning to work, young people leaving college, loss of direction or any similar life transition.
